Owning or renting a property comes with its own set of responsibilities and, sometimes, challenges. Whether you’re a seasoned homeowner or a first-time renter, knowing when to reach out to your property manager can make a world of difference.

Here are some key moments when you should definitely pick up the phone or send an email to your property manager.

1. Maintenance and Repairs

Leaky Faucets and Clogged Drains: Small issues like a dripping faucet or a clogged drain might seem minor, but they can turn into bigger problems if not addressed.

Your property manager is responsible for ensuring the place is in good working order, so let them know about these issues early on.

Broken Appliances: If your fridge stops cooling or your oven won’t heat, it’s time to contact your property manager. These appliances are essential for daily living, and they can arrange for repairs or replacements.

2. Safety Concerns

Smoke Alarms and Carbon Monoxide Detectors: If you notice that your smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors aren’t working properly, alert your property manager immediately. These devices are important for your safety.

Structural Issues: Any signs of structural damage, such as cracks in the walls or ceiling, should be reported. These could indicate serious underlying problems that need professional attention.

3. Pest Infestations

Nobody wants to deal with pests, but they can become a problem in any property. Whether it’s ants, rodents, or bedbugs, inform your property manager as soon as you notice any signs of an infestation. They can arrange for pest control services to handle the situation effectively.

4. Lease and Rent Issues

Lease Renewals: If your lease is about to expire and you’re considering renewing it, get in touch with your property manager. They can provide you with the necessary paperwork and discuss any changes in the lease terms.

Rent Discrepancies: If there’s any confusion or issue with your rent payments, such as an unexpected increase or a payment that hasn’t been processed, reach out to your property manager. They can help clarify the situation and ensure everything is in order.

5. Moving In or Out

Move-In Inspections: When you first move in, it’s important to document the condition of the property. Your property manager should conduct a move-in inspection with you to note any pre-existing damages or issues. This can prevent disputes when you move out.

Move-Out Process: When it’s time to leave, contact your property manager to understand the move-out procedures. They can guide you through the steps and inform you about any cleaning or repairs needed to get your security deposit back.

6. Emergencies

Natural Disasters: In the event of a natural disaster, such as a flood, earthquake, or hurricane, keep your property manager informed about any damage or safety concerns. They can coordinate with emergency services and insurance companies if necessary.

Security Issues: If there’s a break-in or any other security-related incident, report it to right away. They can take steps to improve security measures and ensure your safety.

7. Neighbor Disputes

If you’re having ongoing issues with a neighbor that you can’t resolve on your own, your property manager can mediate and help find a solution. They can address noise complaints, parking disputes, or any other concerns that affect your quality of life.

Your property manager is there to make your living experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them when you encounter any of these situations.

Open communication can prevent small issues from becoming big headaches and ensure that your home remains a safe and pleasant place to live.

Living in an apartment is super popular these days, and cool gadgets are here to make it even better. These gadgets use smart technology to make things easier and more fun in your apartment. They can help you with everyday tasks and save space, making your apartment a really cool place to be. Let’s check out ten amazing gadgets that can turn your apartment into a smart and cozy home.

1. Smart Thermostats

It’s not always easy to get the temperature just right in your apartment, especially when the weather changes. Clever thermostats are like magic controllers for your heating and cooling. You can use your phone to adjust the temperature even when you’re not home, and they learn what you like to keep you comfy while using less energy.

2. Robot Vacuum Cleaners

Cleaning up your apartment can be a pain, but robot vacuum cleaners are like little helpers. They can move around by themselves, cleaning up dirt and dust so you don’t have to work so hard to keep your place tidy.

3. Smart Home Hubs

Imagine having a super smart friend in your apartment who can do lots of things for you. Devices like Amazon Echo or Google Nest Hub are like that friend. They listen to what you say and can help control other gadgets, play music, remind you of things, and even make phone calls, all by just talking to them.

4. Multi-Functional Furniture

When you don’t have a lot of space, furniture that can change is a big help. Stuff like tables that fold up, sofas that turn into beds, or desks that hang on the wall can make one room feel like three different spaces.

5. Compact Kitchen Gadgets

Kitchens in apartments can be small, but that doesn’t mean you can’t cook good food. There are small gadgets like tiny dishwashers, mini coffee makers, and little ovens that can do lots of things. They make cooking and cleaning up easy, even in small kitchens.

6. Wireless Charging Stations

Remember how charging cords can be a mess? Well, wireless charging fixes that. You can put your phone, watch, or earbuds on a special pad, and they start charging without needing to plug in any cords.

7. Smart Locks

Keep your apartment safe and easy to enter with smart locks. These locks can be controlled with your phone. You can give people access for a short time, like when you’re waiting for a package, without needing to be there in person.

8. Smart Lighting

Lights can change the mood of your apartment. With smart lights, you can make them any color you want, dim them, and even set them to turn on and off at certain times. It’s like having a party or a cozy hideaway just by changing the lights.

9. Noise-Canceling Headphones

Living in an apartment can be noisy sometimes, but noise-canceling headphones can help. They make the noise around you disappear, so you can focus, chill, or enjoy your stuff without any distractions.

10. Plant Sensors

If you like having plants around, even in your apartment, there are gadgets to help. Plant sensors can tell you when your plants need water, light, or the right temperature. This way, your plants can be happy and healthy in your small space.

Living in an apartment can be super cool, especially with these awesome gadgets. They use smart tricks to make your life easier and more fun. Many of the suggested gadgets are made to make your home tasks easier by doing things automatically. When you automate tasks in your apartment, you can make your life even more comfortable and avoid unnecessary challenges. From devices that save space to ones that make your home cozy and safe, these ten gadgets can turn your apartment into a smart and comfy place where you’ll love spending time.

Working from home has become the new normal for many people, and having a dedicated workspace is essential for productivity and focus. If you live in an apartment, setting up a home office might seem challenging due to limited space. However, with a little creativity and smart planning, you can create a cozy and functional workspace right within your apartment. Here are some tips to help you create your cozy and functional home office…

Choose the Right Space

Look for an area in your apartment that can be dedicated to your home office. It could be a spare room, a corner of your living room, or even a nook in your bedroom. Consider factors like natural light, privacy, and noise levels when selecting your workspace. It’s important to have a space where you can concentrate and minimize distractions.

Good lighting is also crucial for productivity and reducing eye strain, so best to keep that in mind. If possible, position your desk near a window to take advantage of natural light. If natural light is limited, use a combination of ambient lighting and task lighting by placing a desk lamp or a floor lamp with an adjustable arm.

Declutter and Organize

But before setting up your home office, declutter the chosen space. Remove unnecessary items and organize any existing furniture or storage units. A clean and tidy workspace will help you stay focused and create a pleasant environment for work.

Keep your office supplies organized and within reach by using desk organizers, drawers, or small storage containers to store pens, papers, notebooks, and other essentials. Use wall-mounted shelves or bookcases to keep books, reference materials, and files neatly organized.

And don’t forget your cables! Tangled cables can create a mess and pose a safety hazard. Use cable management solutions like adhesive clips or cable sleeves to keep your cables organized and out of sight. In addition, consider investing in wireless technology, such as a wireless keyboard and mouse, to minimize cable clutter further.

Set Up your Desk and Chair

Invest in a desk that fits your space and work requirements. Look for compact options like corner desks or wall-mounted desks if you have limited space. Alternatively, repurpose existing furniture, like a dining table or a sturdy console table, to serve as your desk. Make sure it provides just the right space for your computer, paperwork, and any other essentials.

And don’t forget to choose a comfortable chair! Look for a good chair that supports your posture and allows you to work for extended periods without discomfort. Opt for an adjustable chair with good lumbar support, or consider using an ergonomic chair cushion to improve your seating arrangement.

Personalize Your Space

Make your home office feel welcoming and inspiring by adding personal touches. Hang motivational quotes, artwork, or photographs on the walls. Add indoor plants for a touch of greenery and to improve air quality. Surround yourself with things that make you happy and boost your productivity.

Setting up a home office in your apartment doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming. With these simple steps, you’ll be well on your way to a comfortable and efficient home office experience. Happy working!

Moving into a new neighborhood and getting a new apartment can be quite difficult at first. But there is a lot of opportunities for a fresh start and meeting new people. Making new friends is a great example to help you settle into your new place.

Here are some tips to help you socialize and start making new friends in your new home…

Be Friendly and Introduce Yourself to Neighbors

Being polite can really go a long way, and a simple hello with a smile can do wonders. Whenever you are passing by, or grabbing your mail, or even enjoying the wonderful weather outside, try to say hi and make a conversation.

Just make sure you are not interrupting anyone, and you are respecting their personal space.

Spend Time in Community Areas

If your apartment community has a dedicated common space, then take advantage of it to get to know your neighbors. Bring a cup of coffee, or two, and share it with a possible friend. Or use the community fitness center to bond with neighbors who share your workout routine. Who knows? Maybe those who are also spending time in these communal spaces are also looking for a new friend, like you.

If you have a pet, it’s also the perfect opportunity to meet fellow pet lovers while you walk them around. Pets are lovely conversations starters, and you might just find someone who shares the same pet with you.

Attend Resident Events

Another great way to meet your neighbors and make new friends is by attending community resident events. It’s an amazing opportunity to share interests and hobbies with those who live near you. Aside from making new bonds, you can also witness collaborations from different local businesses in the area.

Host An Apartment-Warming Party

If you have the time and resources, why not host a gathering at your new apartment? It’s a fun and simple way to show your new neighbors that you want to meet them and make new friends. Ask them to come over for some outdoor barbeque weekend in your balcony or a mini tea party. You can post the invitation in the community announcement page or just choose who you’d like to invite, it’s totally up to you!

By following these tips, making new friends in your new neighborhood will be easier than ever. Start making your new place your new home.

Since the pandemic started, most of us has taken up new hobbies or revisited old ones. If you rediscovered your love with playing music, and you are worried that practicing in the comfort of your apartment might disturb your neighbors, then this is for you.

Here are some tips to practice music in your apartment while keeping the calm in the neighborhood…

Follow the Rules

The first step to anything related to your apartment, is to always check your contract. Do you have a noise ordinance or a noise curfew in the neighborhood? Some places have quiet times in place so make sure to review your lease to avoid breaking any rules.

Pick a Good Time and Duration

Setting the right time is important when practicing in an apartment, because you shouldn’t really be playing drums at 10 in the evening right? And since most of the people now are working from home, so hearing you play loudly while they are having a meeting is not really a good idea.

Instead, choose a time slot that is convenient to everyone, say 5 to 6 pm. This way your neighbors can expect your “music” at this time and can adjust their activities. Communication is key here, and being considerate just shows both you and your neighbors are willing to compromise.

Notify and Talk to your Neighbors

It’s always a good idea to meet your neighbors. If you haven’t moved in yet, drop by and introduce yourself when you make a visit to your apartment. Tell them you are a musician and you practice music at home. By doing this, you will also be able to know their situations. Do they have small children who take a nap in the afternoon? Are they out in the morning?

Keeping the communication open will make them appreciate you more, so leave your contact number behind so they can easily get in touch in case of a change in schedule.

Approaching your neighbors also open opportunities to finding friends who share the same hobby as yours.

Use Silencer Accessories

There are instances where you couldn’t really work around your neighbors’ schedules because not all of them work the same routine. So it’s time to purchase a practice mute or consider instruments that you can plug your headphones into. You can also consider electric instruments where you can turn down the volume or unplug the amp.

If all else fails…

Have you considered soundproofing? Find soundproofing accessories that don’t need to be installed. Blocking the sound from coming out of your apartment will be able help you practice more in your own time. Transform a part of your apartment to a soundproof practice room.

Or, just find another space. Sometimes, the stars don’t align for us and that’s okay. You can shorten your practice time in your apartment and work on a rented studio outside.

Pursuing your hobby is important, and respecting your neighbor’s peace and quiet is imperative as well. Find a way to balance and keep both so you can enjoy practicing music in the comfort of your apartment. Follow the tips above to make sure you’ll have a peaceful music journey in your own place.

Conserving energy means reducing your carbon footprint and saving more money on electric bills by using less energy. On the other hand, you can also be energy efficient by using products and appliances designed to use even less energy. Don’t worry, you can actually do both – conserve energy by being efficient! Below are energy saving tips for your apartment.

If you are a renter, you can’t really make drastic changes to your apartment without the approval of your landlord. But, don’t worry! That doesn’t mean you can’t do anything to save energy in your apartment. There are actually many basic and easy ways to do it.

Weatherstrip Your Windows

Sealing any air leaks in your windows (and doors) can help you save energy. When your apartment loses heat in the winter because of these air leaks, your heating system works overtime to produce more heat which forces your energy consumption to increase. Same goes with air conditioning during summer. Proper weatherstripping can help keep the heat/cold inside during the winter/summer, and keep the outside air from coming in.

There are a variety of ways to do this, but the simplest one would be to DIY plastic, felt, or vinyl. You could also opt for draft stoppers or door sweeps in for the bottom of your doors. If you haven’t have the time to do any of these yet, just roll a towel in front of your window sills to prevent any drafts from coming through.

Another helpful tip during the summer is to use blinds (or blackout shades) and keep them down in the morning. Morning sunshine is good, but the longer you let it in, the hotter your apartment will be. More heat causes your air conditioning unit to overwork, which causes higher energy consumption.

Replace Your Light Bulbs with LED Ones

Not only do LED light bulbs consume less energy than the usual ones, they also cost less! If you don’t want to change all the light bulbs in your apartment, then start with the fixtures and lamps that you use more often.

Still, the number one rule to save energy is to turn off the lights (and fans) when not in use. It’s free and very easy to do!

Reduce Hot Water Usage

Using less hot water also uses less energy to produce heat. Whenever you can, use cold water when showering or take shorter hot showers.

Another thing you can do is to wash your clothes in cold water. A full load under cold water can already save a lot of water and electricity, plus it cleans the same!

Avoid Phantom Power or Energy Vampires

When you leave your devices and appliances plugged in when not in use, they still consume energy which is called phantom or vampire power. Examples of these are your phone chargers, tv, toasters, coffee machines, and even your power strips. So, for an efficient energy saving, you could purchase some smart power strips which can automatically turn off electricity whenever you turn your devices off. Or, you could just unplug any devices that are not in use.

These tips are only a few ways to save energy in your apartment without doing drastic changes and spending money. Whether it’s your own house or you are just renting, make smarter choices and less negative impact on the environment by conserving energy efficiently.

Many people who like to live a minimalist and uncluttered lifestyle tend to have difficulties in letting go of most of their stuff. But having too many things tends to make your place look like a mess.

Well, the first step to a simplified lifestyle is to learn how to declutter your apartment and get rid of the things you no longer need. However, there’s the challenge of knowing where to begin.

People often have trouble doing it because decluttering is often easier said than done, and starting can be very stressful when you have a lot of things to work on. Still, don’t get discouraged! Think about what you will gain by having less clutter in your life, instead of focusing on all the things you’re going to get rid of.

And remember that it’s totally understandable to feel anxious and stressed throughout the decluttering process. It definitely takes a lot of time and effort to do this, and it’s okay to take it slow. To help you ease onto it, here are some simple and easy tips to help you declutter your apartment.

Choose One Item To Get Rid Of Per Day

Decluttering may be an overwhelming task especially if you rush it in a day or two. To avoid this, get rid of your extra stuff gradually by spreading out the task at hand.

Find one item per day that you no longer enjoy or need, and you will not even notice that this item is gone. These items can be small trinkets lying around the house, or a piece of clothing that no longer fits, or maybe expired items among your toiletries.

At the end of the month, you already made a big difference! And at the end of the year, that’s 365 items you have eliminated. High five!

Fill One Trash Bag At A Time

If getting rid of one item per day is not ideal for your situation, then go ahead and get rid of more! Speed up your decluttering process by grabbing a trash bag and filling it with items that you want to donate or throw away.

Doing it one trash bag at a time leaves you with more time to process how much stuff you are really willing to let go. And it feels really good to see that you’ve already filled up one full trash bag. If you are feeling more productive, then go ahead and grab more bags. It’s totally your call.

However, it’s important to remind yourself that you don’t have to rush the process. It’s completely okay if you haven’t filled one whole trash bag today. You can still do it tomorrow! Or whenever you have the time. No pressure here!

Declutter One Area At Your Own Pace

You can either grab things randomly from room to room, or just focus on one area at a time. Doing the latter helps you address different parts of your apartment in an organized way, thus avoiding the mistake of creating more clutter.

Focusing on one area first gives you more time to decide on the stuff that you want to get rid of. It also gives you the opportunity to find things that you thought “disappeared” ages ago. Moreover, it creates a sense of accomplishment once you finish decluttering one area of your apartment.

You can easily do this by deciding which area you want to do first. You may start with your bathroom and dedicate one whole day to get rid of the stuff you no longer want and need, then move on to your bedroom or kitchen.

Concentrating on one area at a time can also help you feel less overwhelmed and anxious, because you don’t have to think about the whole apartment at this point. Instead, just think about your chosen area.

Make Time For Touch Choices

Some of us are sentimental and have kept things because of the memories we had with them. It’s totally understandable if you’ve grown attached to some stuff that are with you for a long period of time. These items are the hardest to let go, so you should take some time to think about it.

Or maybe look at it in a different way. Ask yourself if you would have still bought the item if you were given the opportunity all over again. And if so, would you have paid the same amount? Would the value be the same?

You may think you are attached to some items but when asked about it, you may realize that things have changed so that’s not the case anymore. Or maybe the value hasn’t changed and you still cherish these things. Both are totally okay.

Deciding to declutter your apartment and doing it can be very stressful to some people, but having a clean and organized apartment can benefit you more in the long run. A clutter-free apartment can provide a happier and healthier space for you and your visitors. And it’s really helpful to easily find the things that you are looking for.

As long as these things are no longer serving their purpose in your life and they are not bringing you any more joy, then it’s time to declutter your apartment. Living a minimalist lifestyle requires getting rid of the items you have grown accustomed to over the years, but it will really help create a lighter and clearer atmosphere in your apartment.

What are you waiting for? Start looking at the items you own and see if they are worth keeping or not, and declutter your apartment effectively using the tips above. Happy cleaning!

How good does your apartment smell? Is it a pleasant experience all the time? If you’re like most people, the answer to this question is a resounding “no.” One of the most important things you can do that will help you and anyone living with you feel better is by clearing the air, literally.

Impress your visitors, whether family or friends, by the cleanliness and fresh scent of your apartment. There are a lot of ways to do this. Make your apartment smells fresh by following some of these simple tips shown below.

First, Remove Smelly Objects

Removing smelly objects may take some time because you might need to put on your detective hat. But this is important because your apartment will never smell great if you don’t get rid of the sources of odors. You can follow all the other tips only to have your place stink up quickly again.

Some examples of smelly objects to look for and eliminate are damp laundry sitting around, dirty upholstery, leftovers in the fridge, your oven or microwave that hasn’t been cleaned in months, and, of course, trash cans that need emptying.

Your apartment will definitely smell better once you take care of these things!

Now Let The Fresh Air Come In

One of the easiest and fastest ways to improve the air quality in your apartment is to let clean, fresh air come in through open windows. It is a known fact that when old, stale air mixes with the fresh new air, the new air always takes over.

For best results, open several windows in different rooms, ideally facing different directions if possible, to get some natural air flow started. No wind outside? No problem! Put a desk fan or box fan by a window. If you set up one to blow out, that will pull fresh air in through all the others. Or, if you have ceiling fans you can use these to start air movement which will help pull the fresh air in.

It may not be the best idea to open all your windows during winter time, but winter air is often very fresh. Just a few minutes will definitely make a difference in making your rooms smell fresh and clean.

Candles, Air Sprays, Plug-ins

Sometimes you may have to resort to covering up bad odors. In this case you can use candles, plug-ins, air sprays, or even incense. These products can be quite helpful in making your apartment smell better.

If you use several of these, make sure to choose scents that compliment each other. You don’t want to overwhelm your senses, or those of your guests, by mixing too many strong perfume smells. While a little fragrance can be nice, too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing.

Also keep in mind that covering up smells is not a good long-term solution. You might get used to the mix of a scent covering an odor, but guests might come in and still easily detect the odors until their sense of smell fatigues.

Use Your Oven For Baking

It is always a good idea to greet guests with the smell of delicious, home-baked food. Some baked goods are like comfort smells. Examples include chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin pie, birthday cake, and even a fresh loaf of bread. Any of these will make your apartment smell amazing!

On the other hand, there are some smells you might want to avoid when expecting guests. Garlic and fish can be overpowering smells. Bacon can be another. Of course if you have invited guests for dinner and these are part of the menu, all will be forgiven. But even then you might want to consider mixing in some pleasant smells. Cinnamon can enhance the freshness by putting some sticks in a slow cooker or mulling some wine. Of course any of the baked items mentioned above will help too.

Never underestimate the power of freshly baked goods to make the smell of your apartment inviting.

Make Your Own Potpourri

Creating your own potpourri is really easy! No need to dry any flowers. All you need to do is boil water and throw in some things have have a nice pleasing smell. Some examples that you can use are spices like cloves and cinnamon sticks, a few orange peels can be nice, and, of course, a few drops of essential oils.

Feel free to mix and match to create your ideal fragrance. The steam from the pan will lift the smells from the water into the air of your apartment.

If you want a similar experience in another part of your apartment, you can use the bathtub as an option. Add a couple inches of hot water along with a few drops of a scented oil. Just be careful to rinse well when you’re finished to remove the oils from the tub. You don’t want to create slippery situation.

Well that’s it for now. Try some of these tips to help improve the smell of your apartment. You’ll like it and so will your guests.

Get the most convenience out of your home by turning your apartment into a smart home! Technology continues to advance, and these days there are plenty of different ways to use devices that are smart and connected! Here are some of the best tips you can use to convert your apartment from a regular apartment into a smart home.

1. Use Smart Power Outlets

A simple way to turn your everyday electronics and appliances into smart ones is to use smart power outlets. Start by buying several of these smart outlets. Then you can begin the transformation of your home. These outlets can be used for many of your smaller appliances and lamps. You will gain control of your appliances and electronics using your voice, and you’ll be able to manage them all using a convenient application. This means you have ultimate control over how everything works. You increase accessibility, and you get the ability to monitor and control your electric power usage. And if you expand into using a smart thermostat, you could can even control your heating and cooling temperatures.

2. Use a Single Ecosystem

Turning your apartment into a smart home can be tricky when trying to get different ecosystems to work properly together. That’s why it is best to choose a single ecosystem and stick with it. If necessary, you can use some smart home hubs, now available in the market, to help you sync up different products from different manufacturers. You certainly want everything to work together so that you’re not running 50 different apps to control everything. I don’t know about you, but I already have too many remote controls lying around! Using a single ecosystem where all the pieces are made to work together allows all parts to communicate seamlessly. So, if you like Amazon smart products, stick with Amazon. If you prefer Google’s solution, then stick with Google.

3. Use Smart Cameras

Enhancing the security of your home is easier when you add smart cameras into the mix. Install them outside your windows and your doors. Maybe add some to the inside of your apartment too. You can connect a variety of different cameras to remotely monitor as much or as little of your apartment as you prefer.

4. Use Other Various Sensors

Get more information from your apartment by placing various smart sensors into the system. There are different sensors available that can help you identify issues before they become potential problems. Some examples include carbon monoxide sensors, motion sensors, and moisture sensors. Having any of these in place can help your apartment feel more secure so you feel safer. And you have the knowledge that you are in control!

In summary, converting your apartment into a smart home is pretty easy. With wifi connectivity, you won’t have to mess with the wiring in your apartment. That makes management happy! Instead, you can simply install whatever easy to use smart devices and sensors you feel gives you more accessibility, while boosting energy efficiency, and enhancing security. There has never been a better time to get started with smart devices for your apartment.

Decorating your apartment is one of the many simple ways to make it look more spacious, lively, and organized. Making your apartment feel like home is important whether you just recently moved into your first one, or you have been calling an apartment home for many years. Here are three inexpensive decorating ideas.

Make Your Apartment More Spacious

Make your apartment feel more spacious by matching your curtain color to the color of the wall. Doing this will blend the colors together creating an unbroken line making the apartment area look larger. Adding vertical lines on the walls or curtains can make a low ceiling seem higher.

You can also change the way you install your curtain rods. Install the curtain rods a few inches below the ceiling instead of putting them directly above the window frame. This way, the viewer’s attention will be drawn upward. And that makes your windows seem taller. The same idea goes with the window’s width. Install each end of the rods a few inches further away from the left and right sides of the frame. Doing this will give the illusion of an expanded width.

Another option to make a small space appear larger is to use light colors like gray or white on the walls and on the floor. Doing this makes the space brighter and that makes it seem bigger too.

Organizing Your Apartment

An effective yet simple way to decorate your apartment is to get furniture that includes storage areas or compartments. For example, you could get a coffee table that has shelves underneath it, a buffet that can store books, blankets, and other various items, or an entertainment system with drawers and doors.

If you are looking for ways to save money, you can often find furniture pieces like these with reasonable prices at a resale shop or even Goodwill. Regardless of where you get them, it is important to make the most of your living space and organization is key. Secret hiding places can help. 🙂

Making Your Apartment Lively

Add personality and color to your space by using decorations such as paintings, plants, pictures, and knick-knacks. House plants are also great for cleaning the air in your place while providing color to the surroundings. Various plants, cacti, and other small succulents are inexpensive and they can really add life to your apartment. Cacti and other succulents are also low maintenance because they do not require frequent watering.

Do you collect pictures from your vacation and trips? Print them out and have them framed. These can be used as fun décor hanging on your walls or standing on tables. Photographs make your place alive while at the same time reminding you of your fond memories.

Another creative way of decorating your walls is with canvas paintings. You can easily buy them online, in stores, or better yet create your own special artwork.

And finally, you can make your apartment more lively by displaying knick-knacks you may have collected from your past. Decorating with antiques and personal treasures is an excellent way to personalize your apartment.

Now it’s your turn. Try out a few of these tips to turn your apartment into your home.
